Henry "Hank" G Woods

Henry “Hank” G. Woods, age 92, passed away on June 29, 2022. He was born in Appleton on March 15, 1930 to the late John P. and Emma (Nee Boelter) Woods. Henry served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at Thilmany Papers for many years. Henry married Margaret (Horn) Goers in 1960 and lived in Combined Locks, Wisconsin. Margaret preceded him in death in 2003. Henry was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Alice Liebergen, John Woods, Barbara Krause, Kenneth Woods and Carl Anthony. He is survived by sisters Elaine Schneider, Joan Pomeroy and many nieces and nephews.

He and Margaret enjoyed their summer trips boating and to their mobile home in Amherst. They also enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter. Henry was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church, Appleton. Hank was always, happy, humming and smiling anytime you would see him.

The service for Hank will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St., Appleton) with Rev. Jim Wiebel officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service and will be followed by military honors at Highland Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank Hank’s neighbors Roger and Liz Stowell for taking such good care of Hank along with Kayla at Aseracare Hospice for wonderful care in Hank’s final weeks and days.
