Hendrika Marie Rutten

Hendrika Rutten, age 97, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Carolina Manor following a five month illness. She was born on February 10, 1915 in Nijmegen, Netherlands, the daughter of the late Gerard and Marie (Johnson) Gerrits. On May 2, 1933, she married Theodor Rutten in Nijmegen, Holland, and they enjoyed 66 years together. Hendrika was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton.

She is survived by her children: Gerry (Herbert) Stoehr, John (Barbara) Rutten, Tilly Stier and Ron (Christi) Rutten; ten grandchildren: Steve Stoehr; Tim (Cheryl) Rutten, Julie (Al) Hoerning, Ted (Kelly) Rutten and Bill (Kathy) Rutten; David (Merry) Stier, Michael (Kathleen) Stier, Joe Stier III and Margaret (Mike) Fincutter; Ben (Crissy) Rutten; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; brother: Gerald Gerrits and brother-in-law: Fred Rutten. Hendrika is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodor Rutten; son-in-law, Joseph Stier Jr. and two brothers and sisters-in-law.

The funeral liturgy for Hendrika will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 S. State Street, Appleton. Fr. Jim Leary, OFM CAP will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 9:00 am until the time of mass.
