Helen Wright

Helen Wright, 86, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Peabody Manor. She was born on March 30, 1923, in Spring Valley, IL, to the late Monroe and Hazel (Glassco) Melton. Helen was a graduate of Wesleyan University, Bloomington, IL. She was a long time member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Appleton, and also served on the YMCA Board of Directors, was a member of Riverview Country Club where she was active on many boards there. Helen was also past president of the Outagamie County Medical Auxiliary and was active with Appleton Medical Center. Helen is survived by 3 children: Frank (Deb) Wright, Colorado; Susan (Bill) Enright, Medicine Lake, MN; and James Wright, Colorado; 2 grandsons: Michael and Geoffrey Enright, both of Minnesota, a brother: Charles (Eloise) Melton, FL; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her dear friend, Marsh Mc Donough and sisters, Rachel Melton and Ruth Sroggins. The family would like to thank Joyce and Len Hanstedt, Phyllis Wallace and all the staff at Birch Cottage, Peabody Manor for all their care and support. A memorial service will be held on April 17th at 1:00 PM at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, (724 E. South River, Appleton.) Friends may call on April 17th, 12:00 PM until the time of services at the Church. A memorial fund is being established for the First Congregational United Church of Christ or the Appleton Medical Center Auxiliary.
