Helen M. Medlicott, 69, passed away just before the fireworks on Friday, July 4, 2025, surrounded by her family after a several year battle with MAC lung disease. Helen was born on February 4, 1956, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Eileen Corley. Helen spent her childhood working on her family’s dairy farm and attended St. Mathews Catholic School. In 1978 while attending Southwest Tech, Helen met her future husband, Daniel (Dan) Medlicott and was instantly drawn to his full head of hair. The two were married on August 6th, 1983. Helen and Dan spent the next 20 years living in Janesville, Wisconsin where Helen worked at Janesville Medical Center and stayed busy raising two beautiful daughters. In 2000, the family moved to Neenah, Wisconsin where Helen worked at Schubbe Resch and McRae as a Chiropractic Technician for 20 years before retiring only to return to Schubbe Resch part-time. Helen made the most of every day, waking before the sun and when given the opportunity to make someone else happy, she did just that. She was known for her hard work, beautiful flower gardens and homemade fudge recipe she refused to share with anyone. Helen enjoyed traveling to Tennessee and Kentucky with her husband Dan and spending time with her five grandchildren, Sadie, Hudson, Nash, Presley and Grey. Helen’s daughters would describe her as kind, loving, selfless and smart. She was everyone’s go-to and always had the best advice. Helen was most happy working in her yard, traveling, cooking and enjoying the company of her family where she was known as “Nana”.
Helen is survived by her husband: Dan; and daughter’s, Maggie (Jesse) Fenske and Katie (Steve) Van Linn; five grandchildren: siblings: Donna (Jerry) Shepherd, Coleen (Terry) Blackbourn and William (Sue) Corley; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her sister: Patricia Duffey; her parents, John and Eileen Corely; and in-laws, Darlene (Terry) Medlicott; along with the family’s furry friend, Eddie.
In lieu of funeral services the family will have a private ceremony at the burial site in Shullsburg, Wisconsin at a later date.
Helen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Compassus Hospice nurses Liz, Tiffany and a special thanks to Marissa for her compassion and support.
Helen, Mom, Nana, you will be greatly missed by all those who had the chance to meet you and know you. We love you.
