Helen Jean Bork, of Greenville, age 86, died peacefully with her family by her side on Sweetest Day, October 17th, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center. Helen Lippold was born January 27, 1929 in New London, Wisconsin to Milton and Olive (Holmes) Lippold.
On May 29th, 1954 Helen was united in marriage to Carleton Bork. After marriage she moved with her new husband to Camp Gordon, Georgia and then returned to Wisconsin before the birth of their first child the following year. They lived in Appleton until 1983 and then moved to Greenville. She was a long standing member of Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she worked at Aid Association for Lutherans, the Appleton School District, and then retired from Pranges in 1991. She spent her retired years lovingly taking care of her grandchildren. Her hobbies included the Ladies Bowling League, crossword puzzles, the game show network, Shirley Temple movies, the Statler Brothers, defending Brett Favre, horses, wildlife and bird watching, Disney classics, and excitement and wonder of the Christmas season. Her favorite hobby was proudly talking about and nurturing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carleton. Further she is survived by her children: Debra (Leonard) Reis, Greenville; Dan (Peggy), Oneida; Jeffrey (Sandie) Hortonville; Mike (Sharon), Fremont, CA; Robert (Michael), Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren: Pennie (Luke), Nathan (Cindy), Nicole (Jeremy) Patti (Mark), Ashley (Bert), Nicholas (Stacy), Amber (Zak), Matthew (Jennifer), Adam (Karly), Jonathan (Katie), Zakk, Eric (Annie), Ben (Mary Ann), Bobby, Josh, and Kristin. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Jacob, Naleyah, Ethan, Aleada, Jaydah, Emily, Gavin, Mylah, Cadeon, James, and Derek and a loving goddaughter, Diane Julius. She is also survived by three brothers-in-law, Jean Schaenzer, Duane (Carol) Bork and Frank (Darlene) Bork; five sisters-in-law, Marion Bork, Nancy Roblee, Marge Bork, Lona (John) Schroll and Sally (Roy) Van Eperen; Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Albert and Ella Bork, her sister Joann Schaenzer, four brothers-in-laws, Harley Bork, Donald Bork, Kenneth Bork and Allen Roblee; two sisters-in-law, Christine Suchoski and Geneva (Orrin) Olson, and her nephew, David Julius.
Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 North Oneida Street, Appleton on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and from 9:00am – 11:00am on Wednesday, October 21st. The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 21st at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Lloyd Luedeman officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
