Helen Haase, age 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, morning, September 1, 2012. Helen was born in Neenah on October 26, 1914, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Johann) Haase. She was a graduate of the Neenah High School and had a lifelong career at Pierce Manufacturing. She was proud to be the first woman ever to sell fire trucks. Things that were important to Helen included the Outagamie County Historical Society, a good game of bridge, and her Catholic faith.
She is survived by a sister: Genevieve Gregg of Lakewood; a niece: Joan (John) Hendricks of Green Bay. There are three great-nieces and a great-nephew: Stacey (Bart) Heindel of Kaukauna, Kim (Martin) Figlinski of Green Bay, Patrick (Brooke) Gutheridge of Green Bay, and Alisha Hendricks of Green Bay; seven great-great-nieces and nephews; and a special cousin: Betty (Jim) Wolter of Darboy. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Alice (Herman) Ruscher, a brother August Haase, and brothers-in-law Wilbert Gunther and Stanley Gregg.
The funeral liturgy for Helen will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton, with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
