Harriet M. Erchul, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1926 in Bessemer, MI; daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Hope) Maslowski. On July 2, 1949 in Ashland, WI, she was united in marriage to Dr. James W. Erchul. James preceded her in death on October 2, 1989. Harriet graduated in 1947 with her registered nursing degree from St. Scholastica College in Duluth, MN. She was active with the St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Auxiliary, the Community Blood Bank and Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her three sons, John Erchul, Menasha, James (Nanette Dahms) Erchul, Eagan, MN and William (Ann Schulte) Erchul, Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, John (Sara) Nickasch, Menasha, Sarah (Matt) Nickasch Mitchell, Willcox, AZ, Nicolette Erchul, Minneapolis, MN and Anthony Erchul, St. Paul, MN and by her sister, Jean (William) John, Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter (Jeanne Erchul Nickasch), and by her aunts, Mabel Yourd and Modesta Maslowski. A Memorial Mass for Harriet will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton with Father Bob Lexa officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Inurnment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in her name to benefit the St. Joseph Food Program and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
