The Lord called and Hap answered unexpectedly at Theda Clark in Neenah on Thursday, September 03, 2009. He was born in Port Washington on February 22, 1929, the son of the late Edwin and Elsie Lorge. On May 4, 1956 he married Ruth Wilke. They were together for 47 years. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2003. Hap proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for close to 50 years. Hap and Ruth traveled Wisconsin while working in construction for several years. They finally settled in Appleton and managed the Country Estates Mobile Home Park. Hap worked as the Superintendent of Parks in the Town of Menasha for 21 years, retiring in 1991. Upon his retirement, Hap enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing, making venison sausage, gardening, and making “Hap Sap,” the best maple syrup on earth!
