Elliott, Harold E. “Gene”
Harold E. “Gene” Elliott, 63 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Theda Clark Hospital. Gene was born on August 7, 1946 to George and Opal (Rose) Elliott in Antigo and he proudly served and protected in the United States Air Force. He married Katherine A. Kersten on August 13, 2005. Gene worked at the Eagle Links Golf Course for many years, and was a staunch conservative Republican who enjoyed all of the political blogs and Fox News. He was the president of the “Wolf River Country Club” and loved watching sports. Gene also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Gene is survived by his wife Kathy Elliott, Shiocton, three children, Candi (friend Dennis) Elliott, Neenah, Nicole (Chad) Sedo, Freedom, and Chad (Erin) Elliott, Appleton, six grandchildren; Briana, Ian, Jonathan, Maisie, Kassie, and Zachery, siblings; Maxine Welhouse, Appleton, Tom (Barb) Elliott, Little Chute, Robert (Nancy) Elliott, Fon du Lac, Pat (Barb) Elliott, Kaukauna, George (Karen) Elliott, NC, mother-in-law, MaryAnn Kersten, sisters-in-law, Cynthia (Rob) Hutchinson, Annette (Gary) Marthzal, Valerie (John) Denell, and brother-in-law, Eugene Kersten Jr., special nieces, Casey and Carly, and other special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ronald Elliott, James Elliott and Richard Rose.
A funeral service for Gene will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Gene's name. The family would like to extend a special thank you for all the help they received to the Town of Shiocton and Town of Bovina EMT's, the New London Community Hospital and the rest of the area hospitals.
