Guy M. Schoeni, 89, passed away surrounded by family on January 16, 2024. He was happy and smiling until the end. Guy was born in Milwaukee on August 7, 1934 to Carl and Vera Schoeni. He grew up on a farm in Hubertus, WI where he raised horses and cattle and participated in the county fairs. Guy married Carol Entringer on September 14, 1963, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Guy served in the Army where he learned his trade as a heavy equipment mechanic. He started his career at American State Equipment in Milwaukee and eventually started a location for them in Appleton. He then went on to work for Aring Equipment Company in De Pere, and finished his career at Boldt Construction, retiring in 1999.
Guy and Carol spent their retirement years travelling extensively. He loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or camping. Guy was extremely skilled, helping his children remodel their homes, woodworking, making toys for his grandchildren, and assisted with the remodel of the original St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville. He volunteered at the Church for many years and served on the school board. Guy loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor and was usually telling a joke or striking up a conversation with a stranger. He always wanted to help those around him.
Guy is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Vera Schoeni; and siblings, Roy (Loraine) Schoeni, Carl (Liesbeth) Schoeni, Lee Schoeni, and Jane (James) Mclaughlin.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol Schoeni; children, Stephen (Karla) Schoeni, Michael (Janine) Schoeni, Mark (Kris) Schoeni, Kent (Jayne) Schoeni, Kurt (Melissa) Schoeni, and Lynn (Schoeni) Reinders; and grandchildren, Sydney, Taylor, Julia, Cecilia, Benjamin, Katharine, Derek, Jacob, Cody, Ryan, and Samuel.
