Gregory “Greg” Britt Porter, age 70 of Menasha, WI passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born to George and Marcia (Britt) Porter on April 24, 1956 in Lockport, NY. Greg was raised in Wilson, NY and graduated with Wilson High School’s class of ’74, obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in 1979. Greg worked in the manufacturing industry for many years in the Neenah/Menasha area in a number of different roles, such as quality assurance and compliance manager. Greg met the love of his life, Pam Thompson in 1979 through their work and it was love at first sight. They were married shortly thereafter in September of 1980 and together, they were blessed with 7 children.

Greg was a family man, through and through. He loved his children and grandchildren more than most things in the world and was very supportive while raising them. Greg was also a big sports fan, both of his kids’ and grandkids’ sports and professional sports like the Packers, Badgers, and Duke and Wisconsin basketball. He was a lover of action and sci-fi novels, TV shows, and movies and enjoyed puzzles, both physical puzzles like jigsaws, crosswords, and sudoku, and strategy video games like civilization. You could often find Greg in his garden, tending to his vegetables, or grilling on his patio. He was also a great cook, known for his specialties of chili, tacos, and beef stroganoff. He was a fun-loving man with quick wit, always finding humor in whatever he could. Greg will always be known as a gentle, kind-hearted man who always went out of his way for others.

Greg will be deeply missed by his wife, Pam Porter; his children, Katie (Louis) Weiher, Kyle (Anna) Porter, Michael Porter, Mary (Sam) Tretinyak, Cal (Jenna) Porter, Joseph Porter, and Anna Porter; his grandchildren, Maxwell, Charles, and Alexander Porter, and Augustine, Adela, Leopold, Mabel, and Philippa Tretinyak; his sisters, Adrienne and Bridget; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Marcia and George Porter.

A funeral visitation will be held for Greg from 9-10 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Wichmann Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a funeral service to follow at 10 AM. Greg will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha, WI following the service.
