Grace Meinke

Grace H. Meinke, age 97, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Henry and Flora Schultz on June 23, 1915. Grace married Karl Meinke on April 14, 1937 in Madison and they enjoyed 66 years together. Grace worked for the American Honey Institute and the State of Wisconsin as a secretary. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Appleton.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law: James (Barbara) Meinke of Galesville, WI, and John (Connie) Meinke of Neenah, WI; two grandsons, Thomas (Tiffany) Meinke and Paul (Amanda) Meinke. She is further survived by eight great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, nieces, nephews and friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; her parents; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence (George) Jahn and Dorothy (Elmer) Hougum; her brother and sister-in-law, Stan (Gen) Schultz; and her granddaughter, Michelle Horstman.

A private family service will be held in Madison, WI. Internment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison.

The family would like to thank the staff at Touchmark, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Peabody Manor, Heartland Hospice and Cherry Meadows Hospice for their loving care of Grace. It is not possible to thank you all by name, however, we are so grateful to each of you for all you have done for Grace and for us. God's richest blessings on each of you as you continue to live out your calling by caring for those who are ill.
