Germaine J. “Gerry” Day, 83, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at home. Gerry was born on September 6, 1928 to Walter and Elizabeth (Garbrecht) Engel. On May 22, 1946 she married Gene Day and together they spent over 50 years together until his death in 1999. Gerry was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her family was her life. She was the caretaker of her family and enjoyed sewing and her plants. Gerry was an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Daybreak singers.

Gerry is survived by her five children; Terry (Cindy) Day, Walley Day, Jeffrey Day, Debbie (Glenn) Hauser, Tracy (Amanda) Day, grandchildren; Janneen Day, Jason (Jill) Day, Adam Day, Brandon Day, Brent (Laura) Day, Scott (Amie) Day, Nicholas (Amy) Day, Stephanie (Aaron) Hamming, Chad (Jesseca) Hauser, Hope (Brad) McPeake, Rachel Hauser, Renee (Mike) Londo, Gene “Thomas” Day II, great grandchildren; Ali, Logan, Nickenzie, Gavin, Hayden, Madison, Isabelle, Abigale, Paige, Zach, Alexis, Hannah, and Dillan, her sister Sherry Murphy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sisters; Gloria Volkman, Corrrine Boldt, and Carol Witthuhn.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at OUR SAVIOUR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3009 N. Meade St. with Rev Kurt Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. The family would like to thank everyone for their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Our Saviours Lutheran Church.
