Gerald E. Wendt, age 78. Born September 17, 1948, in Appleton, WI left us September 24, 2026, doing what he loved-playing cribbage.

Married Beverly Wundrow May 1972. They had 54 years together.

Jerry worked at James River (Graphic Packaging) for 29 years. Loved this country by serving in the Navy. After visiting many ports, he said America was still the best. God, church, family and his faith were very important to him.

Loved fishing, hunting in earlier years. Later in life, traveling, casino runs and playing cribbage with friends. Going to Packer games before selling tickets. Watching Brewers, Packers, cheering on the teams. Loved talking all sports with the. Boys and betting on the outcome. Always gave his opinion on subjects in life and the world.

Preceded in death by his parents (Walter and Leona Wendt), in-laws Raymond and Della Wundrow, brothers-in-law (Thomas Wundrow and Dale Stabe).

Jerry is survived by his wife, Beverly, brother and wife Donald and Judith Wendt, sister-in-law Lana Stabe, sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Fritz Krell. Numerous nieces and nephews, plus good friends (Ed, Tommy, Denny & Chuck). Also his beauty girl cat, NIkki Rose.

A funeral service will be held Friday October 2, 2026, at 11:00am, at St Paul Lutheran Church, 302 N Morrison Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:30am until the service begins.
