Gayle Sandra Fassbender (Miller), age 73 of Kaukauna, WI peacefully joined her heavenly kingdom on August 12, 2026. She was born to Russell and Barbara (Beuge) Miller on March 30, 1953 in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Kaukauna High School, she went on to work a number of jobs throughout her life, but was possibly best known for being the head cook at Forest Junction Café (and everyone who ate her homemade potato salad will surely miss it). Gayle met the love of her life, Paul Fassbender at their high school and remained sweethearts right through to their marriage in September of 1974. Together, they raised 3 wonderful children.
As the child of a military family, Gayle’s life was chaotic from the start. But she always managed to find peace and wonder within the craziness. As a result, Gayle found a newfound love and appreciation for traveling, both around the country and around the world with her husband, Paul. Gayle was a nature lover, cultivating a beautiful and natural setting in her own backyard. She was especially proud of her maple tree in the front yard (you’d better not mess with that maple tree!). However, Gayle was above all things a family woman, and cherished any and every get-together with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was so proud of everyone she helped to raise.
Gayle will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul; her children, Lorie and Scott; her grandkids, Brian, Austin, Trenton, Gavyn, Victor, Norbert, and Crin; her great-grandchildren, Levi and Delilah; as well as many other extended relatives and many dear friends.
In heaven, Gayle rejoins her daughter, Staci; and her parents, Russell and Barbara.
A funeral visitation will be held for Gayle from 10 AM – 12 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave, Kaukauna, WI 54130 with a funeral service to follow at 12 PM. Gayle will be laid to rest at St. Francis Cemetery in Hollandtown, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for Gayle and the various organizations she was passionate about.
