HYNEK, GARY L.
Gary L. Hynek, 70, of Kimberly, was greeted in the arms of his Loving Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family. Gary was born on September 3, 1939, in Manitowoc, the son of Eugene and Violet (Trost) Hynek. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1958. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1961. On September 7, 1963, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers, he married the former Claire Copley, the love of his life. Recently, they celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Gary is survived by his wife, Claire Hynek; daughters, Gina (Greg) Haefele; Rebecca (Jim) Schuh; Jill (Mike) Smec; Amy (John) Volkman and Jeny (Chris) Ehlbeck; grandchildren; Megan and Noah Haefele; Ryan and Tanner Schuh; Mitchell and Jenna Smec; Chloe Volkman; Paetyn, Easton and Lily Ehlbeck; mother, Violet Hynek and his brother: Charles (Joanne) Hynek. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene.
The Memorial Liturgy will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
