Gary "Ernie" Hiroskey

Gary “Ernie” Michael Hiroskey, age 69, of Appleton, WI passed away unexpectedly of short-term illness in June of 2025. He was born to Linden and Betty (Rehfeldt) Hiroskey on March 25, 1956 in Appleton, WI. He spent most of his career at Graphic Packaging as a millworker and printer, finally retiring when the mill shut down. While Ernie never became a father himself, he took pride in his nieces and nephews and was a great uncle to all of them.

Ernie was known for his big heart, generosity, and love for others. He was the type of guy who would drop everything to help anyone with anything they needed. Ernie enjoyed spontaneous excursions on his Honda motorcycle, going on trips out of town as often as possible. You could often find Ernie out on a golf course, mastering his drive on the fairways. More than anything, though, Ernie loved his family and cherished every moment he could spend with his siblings, nieces, and nephews during family cookouts and visits.

Ernie will be deeply missed by his siblings, Phil, Cheryl, Chuck (LuAnn), Deb (Dean), Al (Terry), Randy (Sue), and Jason (S.O. Sara); his nieces and nephews, Jessica (Brian), Michael (Maddie), Daniel (Lindsey), Nicole, Stephanie (Matthew), Brian (Shelby), Samantha (Bud), Amber (Andy), Matt (Amber), Lindsay (AJ), Mike, Deana, Kelly (Chris), Kristin (Scott), Derek (Tamra), Devin (Kate), and Logan; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, Linden and Betty; his sister, Lisa; and his nephew, Dylan.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, WI 54136 with a memorial service led by Deacon Bruce Corey to follow at 4 PM. After the service, there will be a celebration of life in the lower level of the Roundabout Bar and Grill, 110 East County Hwy KK, Kaukauna, WI 54130.  Ernie will privately be laid to rest with his parents at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Combined Locks, WI at a later date.
