Gary L. De Goey, age 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He was born on February 20, 1953, in Combined Locks, the son of the late William and Lea Ann (Lom) De Goey. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1971 and attended Fox Valley Technical College. On October 19, 1974, Gary married his high school sweetheart, Mary Meier, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years.
During high school, Gary loved being a member of the “Sole Singers”, and also volunteered his services as their historian. Gary was a dedicated fireman with the Kimberly Fire Department for 25 years. He enjoyed collecting Adler Brau Brewing items starting at age 16 and delivering the paper for the Appleton Post Crescent for many years. Gary was employed with Miller Electric for 40 years, retiring in 2013.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his precious sons, Dave and Matt, his beloved granddaughter, Autumn, his siblings: Debbie (Jim) Jonen, Barb Curtin, Joan (Jim) Nackers, Kathy (Len) Menting, Joe (Sarah) De Goey, Amy (Todd) Van Schyndel, and Bill (Staci) De Goey. He is further survived by his in laws: Mike (Diane) Meier, David (Jill) Meier, Darlene Parks, Monica Meier, and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Roman and Alice Meier, brothers-in-law: Jeff Curtin, Jeff Meier, and John Parks, a niece, Hannah Nackers and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7PM, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly. Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 4PM until the time of the service.
Gary’s gentle spirit, and heartfelt dedication to his loved ones has left a lasting memory on all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, gratitude, and quiet strength will continue to inspire family and friends. Gary will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
