Gail Ann Swenson

Gail Ann Swenson (Zuege), age 79, passed away on January 21, 2026. She was born on December 16, 1946, and became a baptized child of God on January 19, 1947. Gail lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family. She was known for her strong will and determined spirit, always guided by the best of intentions and a caring heart. She married Wayne Swenson on August 16, 1969, at Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and service. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the thoughtful way she cared for those she loved.

Gail was a loving mother and a proud grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. Her compassion, gentle spirit, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Gail loved being an educator and, up until the end of her life, continued to teach others what she believed was most important—faith in Jesus. She was at peace knowing she would meet her Savior. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the promise of being reunited with her again in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Swenson; her parents, Carl and Marilyn Zuege; her in-laws, Stanley and Doris Swenson; and dear family members and friends who went before her.

She is survived by her son, Troy (Nancy) Swenson of Appleton; her daughter, Kara (Jason) of Larsen; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Maya, and Isaiah Swenson of Crete, Illinois, and Madison and Carter Krull of Larsen, Wisconsin; her sister, Paula (Steve) Nimmer of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Leah (Derek) Schneider, Lacey (Dan) Oldenburg, and Scott Nimmer.

A funeral visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wichmann Tri-County Chapel, 1592 S. Oneida St, Menasha, WI 54952. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Eternal Love Lutheran Church, 1011 Midway Rd, Appleton, WI 54915, beginning at 9:30 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM. Gail will be laid to rest at Lakeview Memorial Park in Oshkosh, WI with her husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Eternal Love Lutheran Church, Wee Love Learning Center in Appleton, or Lighthouse Ministry in Appleton in honor of Gail.
