Frances Lorraine Jahnke

Frances Lorraine Sieger Jahnke, age 78, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Lexington, South Carolina. Fran was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on December 8, 1945, to her parents, Karl Sieger and Lorraine Burg Sieger.

On May 28, 1976, Fran was united in marriage to Paul Jahnke in Appleton, Wisconsin. Paul preceded Fran in death on December 26, 2020. Fran worked for many years as a medical laboratory technologist. She lived a life of strong faith and had a servant's heart. She loved spending time with her family and church family. She was a longtime member of Fox Valley Church. She enjoyed making egg salad sandwiches for the church Sunday morning snack bar. 

Fran loved taking care of her plants and garden, taking walks, and watching birds out her windows. She loved to laugh and play games, had a wonderfully teasing sense of humor, and loved her chocolate!

Fran is survived by one son: Mark (Nancy) Jahnke I of Holts Summit, Missouri; one daughter: Jennifer Jahnke of Appleton; three grandchildren: Mark (Michelle) Jahnke II, John (Stephanie) Jahnke, and Ezra James; and four great-grandchildren: Sarah, Micah, Joshua, and Elana Jahnke. Fran is also survived by many other family members and friends who shared her life, and all will miss her greatly.

In addition to her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Karl, David, Thomas, and Daniel, sister Christine, grandson Dylan Zuleger, and great-granddaughter Alanna Jahnke.

Fran fought the good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. She now rests from her earthly labors and has received a crown of life that will never perish or fade in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Fox Valley Church, located at 1200 W. Kimberly Ave. in Kimberly, with Pastor John Sitcler officiating. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the time of the service. Fran will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
