Schinke, Flossie M.
Flossie Maud Schinke, age 95, died on January 1, 2011 at Oakridge Gardens. She was born February 8, 1915, the daughter of the late Max and Sylvia (Rice) Jensen. Flossie was married to her late husband, Harry C. Schinke who precedes her in death. Flossie enjoyed gardening (she had a renowned “green thumb”), had a passion for nurturing seedlings and it was important to her to share her plants with others.
She cultivated friends of all ages and was a faithful Packer fan, enjoyed nature and cookouts in the back yard over an open fire with family and her neighbors were very important to her. Flossie had a soft spot in her heart for her family homestead in Gleason, Wisconsin.
Flossie is survived by her two daughters, Sylvia (Guy) Bull and Marilyn (Dennis) Grady and her sister Muriel Jensen. She is preceded in death by two children: Dennis and Shirley; two brothers, Clair and Everal and two sisters, Sylvia and Opal.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The committal will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Flossie's name.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Oakridge Gardens for the loving care Flossie received during her stay.
