Florence Ryan, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, has begun her final journey. Florence, age 81, was born on April 17, 1932, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Arthur and Caroline (Jancosek) Thompson. Florence married Bernard F. Ryan in Syracuse, New York, on November 19, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2001.
Florence was an avid gardener who loved birds, music, movies, and musicals. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also had very strong beliefs and was a dedicated Catholic. Florence and Bernard were the best parents and grandparents any child could ask for. The
greatest gifts that Florence and Bernard have left behind are the morals and values that they lived their life by and have instilled in their children.
She leaves behind her five children: Tim (Julie) Ryan of Tucson, Arizona; Cindy (John) Forster of Waupun, Wisconsin; Tom (Lori) Ryan of Phoenix, Arizona; Mary (Larry) Trial of Hilltop, Arizona; Cathy (Andy) Fleming-Dobbe of Greenville, Wisconsin; her twelve grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; her brother Thomas Thompson; and sisters Shirley (Lou) Corradi and Betty Walker.
The Funeral Memorial Liturgy will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday, December 6, from 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Florence's name to benefit Alzheimer's Research. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Brewster Village for their loving care and support to the family. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
We will all carry the love, respect, and honor we have for our mother and grandmother as we continue our lives without her physical presence.
