Faith Marie Hajenga, age 60, passed away on January 5, 2026, at her home. She was born on August 29, 1965, the daughter of Sulo and Eleanor Hautamaki. She grew up in Green Bay and upon graduating from high school, ventured across town to NWTC to pursue nursing. While she never worked directly in the nursing field, she never lost her joy in helping people.
In 1997, Faith’s world was made complete when daughter Dakota arrived on the scene. She shared her life with Dakota and also her long-time partner Richard Stumpf. They shared the joys and aches of growing up together, and Faith was truly the inspiration for all things for Dakota. She was a great keeper of secrets and an encourager.
Later in her life, Faith dug into her history after learning that she was of the Oneida tribe. She was in the process of learning more about her heritage and what that meant for her. She loved attending pow-wows and learning more about the cultural aspects.
Faith is survived by her daughter Dakota, her long-time partner Richard, sister Renee (Kevin) Tackett and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service to celebrate Faith will take place on Friday January 30, 2026, at 2:30pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Following the service there will be a celebration gathering in honor of Faith from 3:30pm until 5:30pm.
