Eva K. Payne, age 90 of Freedom, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Rennes Health Center in Appleton. Eva was born on January 14, 1931 in Neenah to the late Nicholas and Anna (Brodzinski) Kulogo. She was a graduate of Neenah High School, and later married her “better half” Donald Payne on April 30,1952 in Neenah. In her free time, Eva loved dancing to any music with a beat, but especially Polka. She also enjoyed her garden of flowers and vegetables, reading, traveling, coloring, playing the accordion, and volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul. She truly loved a good bargain and spending time with all of her family and friends.
Eva is survived by her five children: Donna (James) Greenwood of Virginia, Debra Green of Little Chute, Daniel (Beverly) Payne of Appleton, Diana (John) Berg of Seymour, and Darryl (Patti) Payne of Appleton. She also has eleven grandchildren: Nicholas Greenwood, Ann (Tim) Gruter, Jamie (David) Hilbmann, Scott Green, Jennifer (Eugene) Troyer, Jordan (fiancé Danielle) Payne, Kelly (Nick) Clark, Desirae (fiancé Nathan Konshak) Berg, Joshua (special friend Steffaney) Berg, Erica (Brent) Dugenske, and Erin Payne. In addition, she has thirteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Payne, her five brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren: Erin Murphy and Gregory Payne.
A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Wichmann Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many caregivers who so lovingly looked after Eva throughout her life. We will never forget your kindness.
