Eugene “Gene” Robert Weber, 91 years young, of Appleton, WI entered eternal life on August 27, 2025.

He was born on April 15, 1934, in Eldorado, Wisconsin, to Aldor and Grace Weber, and spent most of his childhood in Dale, Wisconsin. Gene earned his undergraduate degree from UW–Stevens Point and went on to receive his D.D.S. from Marquette University Dental School. Following graduation, he proudly served as a dentist in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Kodiak Alaska.

While in Milwaukee, Gene met the love of his life, Dorothy (Bendry) Weber, outside the Ardmore Apartments. They married on September 3, 1960, in Kodiak, Alaska; this year would have marked their 65th wedding anniversary. In 1963, they returned to Wisconsin, where Gene opened his first dental practice and began his most cherished role—fatherhood. His practice eventually settled on Northland Avenue, where he cared for patients until his retirement in 1999. Gene was active in the Outagamie County Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (the National Dental Honor Society), Trout Unlimited, and the EAA. He and Dorothy were faithful members of Faith Lutheran Church, where they sang in the choir together for 35 years.

Gene was a true “jack of all trades,” admired for both his skill and creativity. He helped build the family’s second home, where they lived for 35 years, and his hands were rarely idle - crafting furniture, building houses, tending his garden, or nurturing his acres of grapes. He loved making wine, jellies, and jams, and his apple trees became a favorite gathering place each fall. A devoted Wisconsin sports fan, he spent countless hours cheering on the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers.

Fishing and golf brought Gene particular joy. He could spend hours waiting for a bite, often without catching a thing, yet he never lost his love for casting a line. His annual fly-fishing trip to Montana, started with his father-in-law and grew into a cherished tradition with children, grandchildren, and friends. In retirement, he found the same joy on the golf course, playing in leagues and cherishing the camaraderie, while still managing to outplay most of his family.

Above all, Gene’s greatest love was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy; children Christian (Jaclyn) Weber, Julie Christian, Jennifer (Scott) Ourada, and Jon (Shana) Weber; 16 beloved grandchildren - Rachael (fiancé Andy), Nathan (fiancé Tori), Meagan (Zach), Beka, Claire (Steve), Nicole, Paige, Grace (fiancé Cole), Patrick, Liam, Josh, Elliot, Molli, Lily Evynne, and Ethan; and five great-grandchildren - Charlie, Jazz, Sully, Beckham, and Emma. He is also survived by former daughter-in-law Peg Hermsen; sisters-in-law Paula Larson and Ellen Bendry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aldor and Grace Weber; sister, Jeanette Pankow; brother-in-law, Milt Pankow; son-in-law, Jeff Christian; and parents-in-law, Joe and Ellen Bendry.

Though our hearts ache, we rejoice in knowing he has cast his final line into eternal waters, and his love will guide us always.
