Eugene Walter Krautkramer

Eugene “Gene” W. Krautkramer, age 93, passed away on December 15, 2025, at St Paul Home. He was born January 30, 1932, in Wrightstown, WI, the only son of Peter and Mildred (O’Dell) Krautkramer. He attended Kaukauna High School and graduated in 1952. After graduating he entered the U.S. Air Force and served his country for four years. Upon leaving the service, he had a chance meeting with Catherine Welson and they married in 1957. Catherine passed away in 1995. Gene found love again with Alice Wians and they married in 1996 and shared 23 years together until her passing in 2019. Gene reconnected with a longtime friend Mary Ann Wittman and they married in 2021.

Gene worked at Giddings & Lewis as a superintendent of the machine shop. He retired in 1993. Gene loved camping and traveling. He was a true handy-man and loved to fix anything and everything. He was committed to showing the U.S.A. to his children, and as a family, they travelled to all 48 states. His marriage with Alice saw him become a true world traveler. He and Mary Ann spent time in Door County, and they travelled around Wisconsin. Gene was also a geek at heart and loved to spend hours on his computer. He also enjoyed outside time in his yard and spending time in the garage. Gene wintered for many years in Florida.

As a proud veteran, Gene joined in Old Glory Honor Flight in 2017. It was an experience he truly enjoyed.

Gene is survived by his wife Mary Ann, his children: Linda (Jim) Johnson, Bob (Anne) Krautkramer, Mary (Tom) Ciha, John (Judy Walden) Krautkramer, Peter (Candee) Krautkramer, 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by many good friends and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Catherine, and his second wife Alice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday December 30, 2025, at 11:00am at St Katharine Drexel parish-St Mary Site, 119 7th Street, Kaukauna. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until mass begins. Gene will be laid to rest at St Mary’s Cemetery, Kaukauna.
