Erwin J. Hoffmann, 83, passed on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. He was born on June 10, 1939, in Germany, the son of Karl and Martha (Linke) Hoffmann. Erwin was gregarious, friendly, kindhearted, and selfless. Family was of the utmost importance to Erwin. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He brought joy to everyone he encountered. He especially enjoyed many adventures and family vacations. Erwin also had a great work ethic and was employed with a local paper company for over 25 years.
Erwin will be remembered most for his devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years: Joan; two daughters: Ann (Shane) Allen and Kathleen (Shawn) Stephany; four grandchildren: Kyle, Landon, Lindsay, and Maya; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings: Werner Hoffmann and Edith (Robert) Guzinski.
A private family service will be held. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
Erwin’s family would like to thank the Veterans Administration, Visiting Nurses Association, ThedaCare at Home, and the Winchester Lions Club for their assistance. A heartfelt thank you is extended to his devoted neighbors: Floyd, Donna, and Richard for their support.
