Emery "Skip" Waters

Emery “Skip” S. Waters, age 67, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. He was born on June 22, 1947, in Neenah, to Emery and Jean (Crushinski) Waters. Skip graduated from Menasha High School in 1965 and, upon graduation, enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served at Scott Air Force base in Illinois between 1965 and 1969. On April 8, 1967, Skip married his high school sweetheart, Susan Carlson, in Neenah at the Presbyterian Church. While in the Air Force Emery also taught Sunday school on the base. He went on to work in the trucking industry, eventually retiring from R&O/AWI after many years of service. Skip always enjoyed the outdoors, and along with that, hunting, fishing, gardening, camping and sports. Most of all, he enjoyed to travel. He and Sue loved taking road trips across the country with the whole family.

Skip is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sue Waters; children: Anne and Rick; grandchildren: Josh and Nikki; mother: Jean Waters; siblings: Roseanne (Warren Westerberg) Waters, Alan (Delores) Waters, Sandi (Kurt) Schmidt, Cheryl (Greg) Omachinski; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emery George Waters; paternal grandparents: Ella and George Waters; maternal grandparents: Arthur and Rose Crushinski.

The funeral service for Skip will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME-LAEMMRICH CHAPEL (312 Milwaukee St., Menasha). Visitation will be held Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and again on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice and Cherry Meadows for the care given to Emery. Also, a special thank you to the many friends and relatives that showed their love and support to Emery and the entire family.
