Elsbeth Gloria "Els" Lamers

February 17, 1929 — October 2, 2021

Elsbeth Gloria Lamers went peacefully to her heavenly home on Oct 2, 2021, at the age of 92, surrounded by her family.  Els was born in Jump River, Wisconsin to Chester and Elsbeth Francis (Pinkert) Smith (also known as Gloria).  At the age of 14, Els moved to Appleton, where she graduated from Appleton West High School.  Soon after, she married the love of her life, Robert Lamers.  They celebrated 60 years of marriage and together had 7 children.  They loved Country Western and Bluegrass music and visited Nashville nearly every year beginning with their honeymoon.  They also square danced and belonged to multiple card clubs over the years.   She was an excellent typist and always knew how to word things perfectly.  She loved her family and friends, loved playing cards, and loved a good laugh.

Els is survived by her 7 children:  Jeff (Joan) Lamers of Appleton, Brad (Janice) Lamers of Brookfield, Phil (Marles) Lamers of Chanhassen MN, Pam (Tim) Moran of Appleton, Jan (Doug) Landskron of Menasha, Jane (Randy) Schmitzer of Darboy; and Ann (Ron) Wojcik of Saint Michael, MN.

And her grandchildren:  Crystal Lamers, Rebecca (Ryan) Branta, Josh (Maria) Lamers, Alex (Jessica) Lamers, Alyssa (Brett) Good, Chris (Caitlyn) Lamers, Steven Lamers, Amanda (Zach) Sisneros, Ryan Moran, Kelly (Mitch) Price, Jason (Jessica) Schmitzer, Brandon (Kate) Schmitzer, Haley Schmitzer, Aaron (Melissa) Landskron, Scott (Haylie) Landskron, Jessica Wojcik, Carli (Peter) Jacobson, Samantha (Kyle) Bergstrom, and Nicole Wojcik.

She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law: Bev (Chuck) Goodman, and Gladys (Mark) Hietpas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lamers, daughter-in-law, Annette Lamers, granddaughter, Tiffany Lamers, parents-in law, Theodore and Minnie (Wildenberg) Lamers, and other family members Marian and Bud Piepkorn, Myrt and Len Wundrow, Rose and Mike Ebben, Pat and Lloyd Vande Hey, Art TeVrucht, Don Vaubel, and Larry Wolff.

Els was a kind, gentle, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She was wholly devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Mass for Els will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St John Nepomucene Catholic Church 323 Pine Street, Little Chute.   A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday prior to the Mass from 9:15 am until the time of service.
