Elonda (Lonnie) Hammond, 76, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at home with her family by her side.
Lonnie was born on August 28, 1946 to the Late Raymond and Geneva (Crober) Terrian in Menasha, WI. Lonnie was a graduate of Menasha High School.
Lonnie’s love transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She brought laughter and positivity to every situation. She was a master at crocheting and diamond dots; loved slot machines (except the ones that took her money)…and she wouldn’t want us to forget to mention her immense love of all things Elvis (photos, CDs, wallets, phone cases, plates…)
After her cancer diagnosis in 2021, Lonnie had 2 fun-filled bonus years with her family and friends doing things she loved and experiencing many new things. She went to Mexico and swam in the ocean for the first time, she relaxed and swam with family at the lake, visited her brother in Kansas, and attended Elvis Explosion, just to name a few.
Lonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hammond; her parents, Raymond and Geneva; and her sisters, Lois Reetz, Isabelle Terrian, Arlene Rohloff, Sandra Bellin. She is survived by her sister, Doris Williams, her brother, Richard (Connie) Terrian; her four chil-dren, Brian (Julene) Berndt, Scott (Deb) Berndt, Donald (Stephanie) Hammond, Nichole (Joaquin) Ramirez; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild with a 2nd on the way.
A memorial will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 1:30pm at St. Joseph Cemetery, 1815 E. Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, WI.
