Ellen Jill Nichols

Ellen Jill Nichols passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 25, 2024, in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was born to Thomas and Lucille McNerney in Cambridge, Massachusetts and raised in Rochester, New York with her sister Jane. After graduating from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, she married Richard Hewitt Nichols, Jr, and moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she lovingly raised two sons, Richard and John. She was devoted to caring for her family and friends. Additionally, she always had space in her heart for all the family pets that played a part in raising her sons. She was a skilled cook and card player. She also enjoyed and arts and crafts. She was known for her humor, kindness and generosity to all who were fortunate to call her a friend and even to those who crossed her path for only a short time. Her funeral mass will be offered at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, followed immediately by interment of ashes in the parish columbarium.
