Ellen Mary Kronschnabel, age 99, passed away peacefully in her long-time hometown of Duluth, MN on Christmas Eve, 2025. Born on December 9, 1926, in Menasha, WI., Mary, as she was known to her family, was preceded in death by her parents George and Ellen (Nel Hardy) Kronschnabel Sr., brothers and sisters and their spouses Edward (former spouse and mother of their children Shirley) Kronschnabel, Anne Elizabeth (Casey) Hermus, George (Betty) Kronschnabel Jr., Frances (Don) Tique, John (Helen) Kronschnabel, and Eileen Kronschnabel, five nieces and nephews, and later in life special companion Darrell Jensen. She is survived by thirty-two loving nieces and nephews who will all dearly miss her charm and wit.

Ellen spent her career in Nursing, first as a Supervisor and Nursing Program Trainer at Saint Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, MN, then in the Public Health Nursing Program in Duluth/St. Louis County, MN. She was a long-time active member of the Duluth chapter of the Red Hat Society and treasured the friendships of her sister Red Hatters. She was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School, Menasha, WI, St Agnes Hospital School of Nursing, Fond du Lac, WI (now Marian University) and the University of Minnesota, BS Public Health Nursing.

Aunt Mary's life will be celebrated with a Mass on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, WI at 11:00 AM, with internment in the family plot at St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Menasha. Visitation will begin at the church from 10:00 AM until the service.
