Elizabeth "Betty" Rose Wire

Age 93, passed away on Thursday morning, July 25, 2024, at Aspire Senior Living Community, following a lengthy illness. 

She was born on November 10, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey, daughter of the late John and Rose (Balga) Bauernhuber. 

She married Robert R. Wire at St. Antoninus Catholic Church in Newark on Feb 3, 1951, and they were married for 58 years. 

Betty enjoyed a number of work experiences … a Sales clerk at Bamberger’s Dept Store, an Avon rep, and 28 years as a bookkeeper/accounting specialist for Food Circus Supermarkets. 

She was most recently a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Darboy. 

Betty will be remembered as a very easy-going person who loved people, was generous with her time, had a gift for making people laugh, and was a fantastic cook. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, the Game Show Network, was an occasional golfer, and was an avid reader. Spending time with family and friends was important to her, whether playing cards or bingo, or just talking. Betty appreciated life. When told that prayers were being offered, asking God to take good care of her, she smiled. "He already has! God has taken real good care of me! Look at the family He gave me!" 

She will be sadly missed by her loving son, Glenn (Marian) Wire, Appleton; grandchildren: Brian (fiancé, Julie), Clare, Jonathan (Ashley), Nicholas, and Laura; great grandchildren: Gabriel, Isaiah, Jonah, Alaina, Michaela, Evelyn, David, Julia, Rosalee, Daniel, and Liliana; as well as nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Bob), and brother (Eugene). 

Funeral liturgy will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Parish, Darboy. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.
