Elizabeth A. Winsted, age 92, passed away on January 27, 2026, at The Heritage, Appleton. She was born on December 14, 1933, in Kimberly, the daughter of Mathias and Wilhelmine (Hanegraaf) Busch. She was united in marriage to James Winsted on October 13, 1956, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. Elizabeth was a uniquely fashionable and independent woman and a social butterfly to her core. She enjoyed camping, watching the Packers and Badgers, and most importantly attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events over the years.

Elizabeth is survived by her three children: Julie (Mark) Thurow, James (Nancy) Winsted, and Jessica (Thomas) Pirie; six grandchildren: Amanda (Julian), Melissa, Bradley, Jamie, Kyle (Caitlin) and Kevin; three great grandchildren: Selena, Riley, and Harrison; two great great grandchildren: Camila and Emerson; other relatives and friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton. The visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:30AM until the time of the Mass. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
