SCHREIBER, ELEANOR A.

Eleanor A. Schreiber, 92, of Appleton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 16, 2010. She was born January 9, 1918 in Kimberly, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Thein. Eleanor married Lloyd A. Schreiber on June 2, 1937 and had three children together; he preceded her in death on May 10, 1998.

Eleanor is survived by her two sons: Lloyd Jr. “Bud” (Kristine) Schreiber, Utah; Mike (Judy Johnson) Schreiber, Fremont; daughter: Carol Derus, Clintonville. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Biese, Marie Van Rossum and Tag (Joe) Polman. Eleanor was preceded in death by her brothers: Jack, Bill, Russell and Larry Thein; sisters: June (Don) Van Der Velden and Margaret (Art) Handler and brothers-in-law: Gene Biese and Paul Van Rossum.

The celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 18, 2010 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton with Father Larry Abler officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 9:30 am until the time of mass. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to benefit Alzheimer's Association research in her name has been established.
