Age 84, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 29,2002 at his home.
Edwin was born on November 21, 1917 in Polar, WI, the son of the late William & Lena (Hose) Brandt.
Edwin served his country during the Second World War as a ambulance driver with the Medical Battalion.
He married Isabel Noworatzky on November 16, 1946. Edwin was a Appleton resident most of his life.
Edwin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Edwin is survived by, a son, Edwin (Kathy) Brandt Jr., Madison; a daughter, Loretta “Sis” (Gib) Schmidt, Appleton; five grandchildren, Rick Schmidt, Andy (Karen) Schmidt, Sarah (Jeff) Schmidt, Patrick Schmidt, and Melanie Schmidt; a dear friend, Bea McCann; five sisters, Helen Roehl, Edna Hartjes, Vera DeLain, Arlene (Bob) Stowasser, and Delores Schutz; a sister-in-law, Sandy Brandt. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by, his wife Isabel; two brothers, Herbert and William; and two sisters, Margaret and Grace.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2002 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH (129 South Mason St.) at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David F. Pagel and Rev. Jeffrey A. Verbeke officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service (11:00 a.m.). Military honors will follow the funeral service.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established.
