Duane L. Peotter, age 93 of Appleton, WI passed away on October 26, 2025. He was born to the late Harvey and Hilda (Schucknecht) Peotter on May 7, 1932. After spending some time wiring up communications for the Army, he worked for the Wisconsin Tissue Mill for many years until his retirement in 1995.  Duane met the love of his life, Rosemary Deimer while roller skating, and they were married in September of 1958. Together, they were married for sixty-six years and raised 4 wonderful daughters.

Duane was a husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first. He, like his wife, had a love of dogs, especially German Shepherds and Shih Tzus. Duane had a deep appreciation for nature and found joy in going to his and Rosie’s cottage up North to relax whenever they could. He knew how to make and fix just about everything you might’ve asked him to. Duane also enjoyed attending country music festivals with Rosie. You could often find Duane in his backyard with Rosie, enjoying the weather and feeding the critters whenever it was nice. Duane and Rosie always cheered on the Green Bay Packers whenever they played. He spent much of his free time in his retirement piecing together jigsaw puzzles, creating beautiful pictures. Duane loved his Westerns – both movies and books – and always admired John Wayne. For just about anything, you could always count on Duane. Even if he didn’t know how to help, he would still find a way to be helpful – that’s just the kind of guy he was. More than anything, though, Duane loved his family and cherished every moment spent with the people he loved most.

Duane will be deeply missed by his daughters, Lynn, Kathleen, Sharon, and Patricia Peotter; his grandson, Alexander Waterworth; his brother, Richard Peotter; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, dear friends and his beloved dog, Abby.

Duane is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; his sisters, Elaine Miller and Ellen Hogan; and five of his brothers, Melvin, Ronald, Norman, Gene, and Milton Peotter.

In respect to Duane’s wishes, no funeral services will be held, but he will be laid to rest with his wife at St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton, WI.
