Dorothy B. Papenfus, 94, of Appleton died Sunday April 3, 2011 at Manor Care. She was born in Appleton, May 15, 1916, daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle (Law) Ellefson. Dorothy married Gordon Papenfus on October 26, 1940.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Darlene (David) Maves of Greenville, two sons, Franklin (Fran) Papenfus of Appleton, and Dennis ((Kathryn) Papenfus of Neenah; two brothers, Lloyd Ellefson of Appleton, and Norman Ellefson of Appleton; one sister, Myrtie (Russell) Krueger of Appleton; daughter-in-law, Karen Papenfus; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, two sons, Ebben Papenfus, and Allen Papenfus, two brothers, Elven Ellefson, and Edwin Ellefson, two sisters, Lucille Kahler, and Bernice Gitter; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Ellefson, Gerry Ellefson, Eva Ellefson, and Gene Ellefson, and two brothers-in-law, Clem Gitter, and Herbert Kahler.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday April 5, 2011 at EMMANUEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 740 East College Ave, Appleton, with Rev. Mark Geisthardt and Rev. Lynn K. Kollath co-officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
