Doris E. Coulthard

Doris Coulthard, age 89, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at Emerald Valley in Appleton. Doris was born in Appleton on August 6, 1919, daughter of the late Richard and Frieda (Krinkle) Lemke, and was a 1937 graduate of the Appleton High School. She married Homer Coulthard, Sr. on September 25, 1943 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton; Homer preceded her in death in 1976. As a young woman, Doris worked at Scolding Locks, and later in life enjoyed raising her family and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children: Homer “Butch” (Kris) Coulthard of Appleton; Jeff (Yvonne) Coulthard of Appleton; Cindy (Mark) Seif of Menasha; and Bruce (Lynn) Coulthard of Menasha. There are twenty grandchildren: Bill Coulthard, John (Vicki) Coulthard, Tim (Stacy) Coulthard, Michael (Kari) Coulthard, Amy (Greg) Penterman, Jeff (Angie) Coulthard, Diane (Troy) Trice, Jenny (John) Hayes, Sandy Brouillard, Tom Brouillard, Mike Brouillard, Brandi Katsma, Stacey Derus, Crystal Rice, Robby Kacynski, Leloni Coulthard, Ryan Coulthard, Kevin Coonen, Isaac Coonen, and Lance Coonen; twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by a brother: Richard (LaVerne) Lemke of Appleton, and by two brothers-in-law: Grant and Leo Coulthard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Homer in 1976, an infant son, brothers Clarence (Connie) Lemke and Bobby (Bev) Lemke, and a sister Ruth (Erv) Roocks.

The Christian Funeral for Doris will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2008 at BETHANY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 530 W. Parkway Blvd. in Appleton with Rev. Darin D. Aden officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the services.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff at Emerald Valley for taking such good care of Doris during her stay. You made her so very comfortable, and we will never forget your kindness. Doris' great-granddaughter, Tiffany, also cared for her great-grandma at Emerald Valley, and we will always remember how that special care was given.
