Dora D. Heltemes

Dora Heltemes, age 73, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at her home. Dora was born October 3, 1931, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred (Braatz) Wyman. She married Eugene J. Heltemes on January 20, 1951, in Waukegan, Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 21, 1997. Dora enjoyed her membership in the American Legion (Wisconsin and Colorado), her friends at the Family Doll Club of Northeast Wisconsin, and especially the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include her children, Kim J. (Kathy) Heltemes, of Pine River, Wis.; James C. (Ruth) Heltemes, of North Prairie, Wis.; and Julie A. (Jerry) Maxwell and Susan J. (Jeffrey) Robinson, all of Neenah; her grandchildren, Chris and Eric Heltemes; John and Nick Heltemes; Mike and Kelly Maxwell; and Sarah Robinson; Elaine Wyman, of Escanaba, Mich., who was more than a stepmother to Dora; her sisters, Sandy (Clarence) Krause, Nona (William) Lemke, and Helen Wyman; and her brothers, Lester and Steve Wyman. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy and Marvin Wyman; her sister, Joan Fergusen, and an infant brother, Vernon Wyman.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2005, at ST. GABRIEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services directly at the church. A memorial has been established in her name.

And Dora’s family would like to further express a sincere thank you to Affinity Hospice, Ellen and Kristen, who were Dora’s nurses, Gina, Sister Regine, Mary, and Lucy, Dora’s health care providers, Ralph Gage, a hospice volunteer, Molly and her dog, Calvin, Fr. Richard Allen from St. Gabriel, Beth, who was Dora’s social worker, and Dr. Eric Gowing.
