BARNUM, DONNA M.

Donna Barnum, of Appleton, age 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 with her family at her side. She was born June 28, 1936 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Albert and Leone (Bleick) Roehm. Donna graduated with the Class of 1954 from Appleton High School. She attended UW-Madison from 1954-1958 and was one of the first female cheerleaders at UW and also a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Donna taught at Wausau High School from 1958-1961. On July 30, 1960 she married Charles Barnum in Appleton. She was a member and loyal volunteer at First English Lutheran Church. Donna was a member of Kings Daughters and an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. She was an owner and associate administrator from 1967-1987 at Appleton Extended Care Center. In 1993, she became the bookkeeper for Murray Photo & Video until her illness interrupted her activities. The family always looked forward to their ski trips to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Donna enjoyed knitting, traveling and the 20 years they enjoyed at Napili Kai Beach Resort in Maui. Her friends and family meant the world to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband: Chuck Barnum, Appleton; three daughters: Kay (Patrick) Murray, Appleton; Ann (Steve) Moore, Denver, CO and Lynn (Matthew) Tremble, Appleton; her son: Scott (Amy) Barnum; Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren: Kyle and Kelly Murray; Collin, McKenna and Clayton Moore; Ethan, Cole and Delaney Tremble; Land, Gray, Louisa and Tatum Barnum and her sister-in-law: Sheila Roehm, England. Donna is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Delton Roehm.

The funeral service for Donna will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 326 E. North Street in Appleton. The Rev. George Detweiler will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Friday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First English Lutheran Church and the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity are appreciated.

Thank you to our dad for his devoted and loving care shown to our mom. Thank you to our mom for her never ending positive outlook on life. You have blessed our lives as a loving and gracious mother and grandmother. Now you can be in peace and let the Lord take care of you.
