Donald W. Otte, age 80, passed away on Friday, November, 16, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on May 12, 1932, in Kaukauna, the son of the late William and Odelia (Jonen) Otte. Don graduated from Kaukauna High School. He was united in marriage on February 9, 1957, to Catherine “Kathy” Vondrachek in Reedsville, WI. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Don was employed in the general construction field for over twenty years, including working for Boldt and PG Miron. Don was also the proprietor of J. Hanfling Leather, a supplier to shoe stores across northeast Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. He was a team member of Perpetual Adoration at St. Pius X and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. No matter the project that Kathy could dream, Don would always accomplish it. Don enjoyed bowling, in both couples and men's league. He was an avid Packer fan and loved spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his wife, Kathy of 55 years, three children, Jennifer (Pete) Schwanke, Appleton, Greg Otte, Neenah and Lissa (Jim) Rohloff, Cannon Falls, MN; five grandchildren, Brian (Fiancée Marjorie) Schwanke, Rachel Schwanke, Cambria Eden Otte, Jace and Cooper Rohloff, one brother Jerry (Lou Ann) Otte, New Mexico, and seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita Vincent, Mary (Bill) Egan, Jerome (Julie) Vondrachek, Anne Hartnett, James Vondrachek, Terri (Orrin) Piepenburg, and Gerald Vondrachek. Don is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by infant son Jeffrey Scott Otte, two brothers, Arthur (Dorothy) Otte and Norbert (Jean) Otte, parents-in-law, Charles and Veronica Vondrachek, and two brothers-in-law, Jurgen Vincent and Jim Hartnett.
Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 East Marquette Street, with Father Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna.
