Donald G. Resch

Donald G. Resch, age 90, passed away on December 3, 2025, at Copperstone Assisted Living in Neenah. He was born May 13, 1935, to the late Richard and Hazel (Peterson) Resch. He grew up in Menasha with his 11 siblings. He graduated from Kaukauna High School and soon after enlisted in the Army. Upon returning home from his service, he met Margaret “Marge” Strobl while the two were hitting up the local hangout Schuller’s Shack. It was love at first sight for them both-but Marge knew that she knew that Don was the one for her. Not even a year after their meeting, the couple married and began their family. They filled their home with 6 children in total, who they raised in Appleton. Don worked at American Can in Menasha for 39 years. After Marge died in 1996, he found company beginning in 2002 with Adrienne Thuot (Donahue) and the two married a year later.

Don was a total sports fan. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golf. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching sports, Wheel of Fortune as well as the news on tv. He was an avid reader as well, and for many years he worked the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.

He is survived by his wife Adrienne; his children: Randal (Vicki), Cheryl (Dale), Michael (Robin), Laurie, Kathy, Ann (John); grandchildren: Kristl, Klaire (Richard), Rick (Laura), Scott (Allison), James (Emily), Jessica (Angie), Caitlin, Noah; great grandchildren: RJ, Margaret, Greyson, Josephine, Murphy, Elizabeth, Amelia, Rosemary. In addition he is survived by his siblings: Sandra DeGoey, Gary (Sandy) Resch, Jeanne (Wayne) Smith; Adrienne’s daughter Cindy (Gary) Eddings and her children: Emily (Jason), Eric; as well as other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Margaret, grandson Chad, and his siblings: Richard (Janice), Joan (John), Thomas (Yvonne), Rose (Roger), Ann (Gene), David, Carolyn, Marilyn, and brother-in-law Ken DeGoey.

A memorial service for Don will take place on Saturday December 20, 2025, at 11:30am at Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri-County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 10:30am until the service begins. Don will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
