Donald M. Liebergen, age 70, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Don was born on October 20, 1942, in Appleton, to the late Marvin and Hattie (Janssen) Liebergen. He married Susan Van Groll on September 18, 1965, in Appleton. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. Don was a well-known meat cutter in area supermarkets and butcher shops. In his younger days he enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing. More recently, he enjoyed gaming, baking for family and friends and especially the time he shared with his granddaughters. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Susan; his sons, Scott (Michelle) Liebergen and their daughter, Stefanie, Appleton; Todd (Casey) Liebergen, Nashville; and Jeffrey (Catherine) Liebergen and their daughter, Emma, Oshkosh; his sister, Judy (Robert) Diedrick, Townsend, Wisconsin; his brother, Jack (Karen) Liebergen, Appleton; and his mother-in-law, Marian Van Groll, Appleton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME—Tri-County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Deacon Gib Schmidt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Don's name.
