KImberly

Donald Lindberg, 71, with deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who left us on April 27, 2025.

Born on February 6, 1954, he was raised in Kimberly, attended Kimberly High School, and Milwaukee School of Engineering where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.

Donald Lindberg shared a remarkable 48-year marriage with the love of his life, Kathlyn Lindberg. Together they built a home filled with laughter, commitment, and love. Donald was a proud and devoted father, and nothing brought him more joy than being “Grandpa” to his four cherished grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

A lifelong fan of all things Wisconsin, Donald had a deep love for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and WI Badger sports. He also loved to golf, play cards, especially sheephead, and researching his family tree with his father. Donald lifeguarded for many years, and taught family and friends how to swim.

He also held a special place in his heart for Kimberly, a community that gave him many of his fondest memories. Summers were spent in Red Granite, WI(Pearl Lake) and winters in Fort Myers, Florida spending time with family and friends.

He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, strong sense of loyalty, and the love he gave freely to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who were lucky enough to know him.

Donald is survived by his wife, Kathlyn Lindberg; his three children and their spouses Melissa (Chris) Paulik, Anthony (Erin) Lindberg, and Magen Lindberg; and four grandchildren: Aiden, Madison, Landon and Laine. He is also survived by his siblings Dianne (Paul) Coonen, Charles Lindberg, David (Susan) Lindberg, and Julie (Jeff) Baker and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles, his mother Ardene and step-mother Patricia.

A memorial gathering for Donald will be held from 1-3pm, on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend time with those you love, watch a game, or share a story in his memory, just as he would have wanted.
