Peerenboom, Donald F.
Donald F. Peerenboom, age 81, passed away on Monday, March 02, 2009, at Emerald Valley Assisted Living. He was born on May 28, 1927, the son of the late Henry and Marie (Derks) Peerenboom. On May 20, 1950, Don married his loving wife, Dorothy Ermers at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. He served his country honorably in the Army during World War II. Don was a life long resident of the Fox Valley and worked for Fox River Tractor Company for 48 years. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his six grandchildren. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and was an avid Packer and Brewers fan.
Don is lovingly survived by his wife, Dorothy (Ermers) Peerenboom of Appleton; daughters: Sister Jean Peerenboom of Green Bay, Lynn (Tim) Shea of Menomonee Falls, Nancy (David) Leyson of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Ryan, Heather and Emily Shea and Laura, Matthew and Daniel Leyson. Don is further survived by his sisters: Irene (Russ) Tiedemann of Wabeno, Mary Lou (Buck) Fairchild of Kimberly, Carol (Tom) Bogenshutz of Cherokee Lake, Texas; and brothers: Hank Peerenboom of Elco, Jim (Marge) Peerenboom of Kimberly and Tom (Shari) Peerenboom of Seattle, Washington; brother-in-law, Bernie Van Roy of Kimberly, sisters-in-law: Betty Peerenboom of Kentucky and Joyce Mader of Appleton. Don is preceded in death by his brothers: Carl, Clarence and Gene “Chesty” Peerenboom; sisters: Rita Van Roy and Barbara Peerenboom and sister-in-law, Marlene Peerenboom.
A Memorial Service for Don will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida Street, Menasha, with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Don's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Asera Care Hospice, Emerald Valley Assisted Living and Dr. Travis Kroner and his staff for all their wonderful care for Don.
Brother Donny, you have always been the leader of the pack and best big brother anyone could have. Rest in peace now your work is done. You're the man! Love forever, your brothers and sisters.
