Dolores Nussbaum, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 15, 2024. She was born on July 19, 1934, to her parents Joseph and Mary Van Handel in Grand Chute, Wisconsin. She was baptized on July 22, 1934.
Dolores spent her childhood on the farm with her mom, dad, and siblings. Ranging from Freedom to Skunk Hill to Five Corners. On April 12, 1953, she met the love of her life, Ronald Nussbaum at the Cinderella Ballroom. It was love at first sight! They got married on September 1, 1955. It didn’t take long for their first son to be born and then they had a family of 11 with 9 kids. Dolores loved her family. She also loved to be in her beautiful garden. She grew vegetables and fruits, along with canning and freezing all that she grew. She always made sure there was food on the table. She was also a fan of a good puzzle and the Green Bay Packers.
Dolores and Ronald loved to travel. They have visited all 48 continental states. They also loved to dance and go on a nice Sunday drive for an ice cream cone. They also loved to spend time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her husband Ronald, children; John Nussbaum (Lori Phillips), William Nussbaum, Karen Kaphingst, Jean (Patrick) Coniff, David (Donna) Nussbaum, Mark Nussbaum, Daniel (Diana) Nussbaum, Mary (Patrick) Mulroy, Tom (Shari) Nussbaum, brothers; Marvin Van Handel, Tony (Kathy) Van Handel, sisters; Dorothy Plutz, Rosie Weiland, Margaret (Darwin Schwartz) Liebergen, grandchildren; Heather (Travis) Trader, Angela (Collin) Kaas, Katie (Curt) Becker, Casey (Jeffrey) Kohl, Amy (Matthew) Lott, Jed (Gina) Nussbaum, Eric (Danielle) Kaphingst, Brian (Miranda) Nussbaum, Tina Nussbaum, Toni (Luca) Rescigno, Ali (Nick) Murphy, Mitchell (Taylor) Mulroy, Ryan (Sydney) Nussbaum, Jess Nussbaum, Kylie Mulroy, Sarah Nussbaum, Rachel (Lake) Peters, Jacob Mulroy, Aaron Nussbaum, and Rebecca Nussbaum, greatgrandchildren; Kesyanda Trader, Sebastian Trader, Katie Kohl, Logan Trader, Cavin Becker, Tyson Kaas, Camryn Becker, Alyvia Trader, Halie Kohl, Tucker Kaas, Brennan Nussbaum, Talia Kaas, Jocelyn Lott, Elliana Rescigno, Soren Rescigno, Nolan Lott, Brooks Kaphingst, Pierce Kaphingst, Annabelle Worthington, Bryson Worthington, Eliza Mulroy, Paisley Nussbaum, Austin Mulroy, in-laws; Ray Nussbaum, Robert (Mary Pat) Nussbaum, Romae Van Handel, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her parents, mother and father in-law John and Regina Nussbaum, sisters; Julia (Steve) Preisler, Irene (Philip) Schneidewend, brothers; Clarence (Mary) Van Handel, Arnold (Geraldine) Van Handel, Alois Van Handel, and Norbert Van Handel, in-laws; Cathy (Wallace) Coenen, Robert Weiland, Gerald Plutz, son-in-law David Kaphingst, daughters-in-law Lori Nussbaum and Julie Nussbaum, and great-grandson Isaac Nussbaum.
There will be a funeral service on Friday November 22, 2024, at St Edward the Confessor of Mackville, N2926 WI-47, Appleton WI 54913. Visitation will be from 9-11am, service time of 11am.
