Wagner, Dolores C.

Dolores Catherine Wagner, age 81, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, May 18, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on January 26, 1928, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late, Frank and Josephine (Block) Schmit. Dolores married her loving husband, Wilmer J. Wagner Jr. on May 6, 1950, in Palmyra, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2003. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church all of her life. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW, Post 2778 in Appleton. Dolores enjoyed knitting, going out to eat, reading books and playing cards. She was especially known for her wonderful sense of humor.

Dolores will be sadly missed by her children: Gail (Phillip) Springer of Plover, Steven (Linda) Wagner of Appleton, Thomas (Jean) Wagner of Appleton, John (Nancy) Wagner of Little Chute; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Liturgy for Dolores will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass.

Dolores' family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Manor Care, a place she very much enjoyed calling “home” and to the 2nd floor ICU staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for all their love and care for Dolores.
