Denise A Willis

April 23, 1946 — February 23, 2018

Denise Audrey Willis, age 71, formerly of Seabrook, passed away on February 23, 2018, shortly after moving from New Hampshire to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter. Denise was born to the late Ralph and Gertrude (Blaisdell) Gilmore of Seabrook, NH. She graduated from Winnacunnet High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. Denise started her teaching career in a one room school house in Alaska and eventually worked in special education classrooms in both Alaska and New Hampshire. Denise had a passion for fishing and loved sharing stories about catching Alaskan halibut and king salmon. She also enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, checking out garage sales, knitting, and growing both vegetables and flowers. Denise was proud of New England and loved playing “tour guide” for visiting friends and family to enjoy lobster, beaches, and local historical points of interest. If you never tried Denise's pies and cobblers – you missed out!

Denise was also generous and volunteered with the Lions club and local food banks. She loved seeing kids enjoy Christmas and many would recognize her as “Mrs. Claus” from the Lions Club Christmas event. Please consider being generous in honor of “Mrs. Clause” next winter to the professional Seabrook Firefighters Toy Bank Drop Boxes!

Denise will be missed by her children: Sasha St. John (Wes Miller), Erik Willis and Chad Willis; as well as her granddaughter: Sierra St. John. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Constance “Conni” Gilmore. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity United Church Parish House at 15 Folly Mill Road in Seabrook (just off Route 1) on Tuesday, April 3rd. Arrive before 3pm and we’d love to see people wear something red. Online guestbook may be signed at www.wichmannfargo.com/obituary (search by last name).

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to: Seabrook Community Table, 18 Boynton Lane, Seabrook NH 03874.
