Delia C Plaga, 86, of Appleton, WI passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2025, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha, WI. She was born April 24th, 1939, in the City of Tacloban Province of Leyte in the Philippine Islands to Marcos Caneda and Juanita Aguilar and married the love of her life (whom he referred to her as “Panga”) Noel Bagaforro Plaga on May 6th, 1959.
Delia worked for the United States Post Office as a mail sorter for 39 years in Milwaukee, WI before retiring and moving to Appleton, WI.
Delia had a passion for writing poems, playing the piano, accordion and hacky sack. She also loved doing the daily crossword puzzle and reading her Bible every single day. Not only was she a kind and generous soul who had to get her nails done every three weeks, she was also well known for being the life of all parties, playing mahjong and telling many jokes that will forever live on in our memories. She truly enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s piano recitals, choir concerts, musicals and her all-time favorite was watching baseball games to cheer for her one and only Evan.
Delia is survived by the family she loved so very much; daughters Gladys (Christopher Cripe), Sheila (Alvin Jackson), Gayle (Scott Olson); grandchildren Jaizon, Kaylib, Samantha, Jagger, Cassidy, Jylian, Ian, Dannika, Evan and Braydon; great granddaughter Ivre Idalia.
Delia was preceded in death by her husband Noel and daughter Susan.
The entire family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, CNA’s and staff at Oakridge Gardens that helped made our mom comfortable over the past 8 months. You were all a blessing to Delia!
A private service will be held to honor the life of Delia.
